Sage Software Healthcare Press Release

TAMPA, Fla. January 7, 2007 – To meet patient demand for secure, efficient, electronic communication and remain competitive, Front Range Center for Brain and Spine located in Fort Collins, Colorado, and NaturoMedica in Sammamish, Washington, were among the first practices nationwide to implement the newly released Intergy Practice Portal by Sage Software.

Intergy Practice Portal, developed in partnership with Kryptiq Corporation, is a secure online system that enables practices to provide an online “face” to their patients, giving patients and practices improved ways to communicate. Unlike other portals, Intergy Practice Portal is fully integrated with the Intergy by Sage suite of solutions. Patient requests made online through Intergy Practice Portal are routed directly to the Intergy and Intergy EHR workspace, with no redundant keying or switching between programs, saving administrative time and improving accuracy of information and patient service.

According to Front Range Center for Brain & Spine Center's Practice Administrator, Nancy Timmons, that’s why her practice jumped at the chance to be a beta site for the new offering. “We signed up immediately for Intergy Practice Portal,” said Timmons. “Anything our staff can do to enhance the experience of our patients – making communication better, more efficient – we embrace that.”

Intergy Practice Portal provides secure online communications solutions for patients through standard Web browsers, including for e-visits. Once logged in, patients can access real-time information and complete forms such as registration and medical history. Patients can request appointments or prescription refills, read messages from their providers, update demographic and insurance information, and much more.

Dr. Naomi Bryant says NaturoMedica’s patients are rapidly embracing the electronic communication tool. “We’re finding that our patients are taking a more participatory role in their healthcare and enjoy completing our extensive questionnaire in the comfort of their own homes,” Dr. Bryant shared. “We’re using secure messaging with patients to help clarify and fine tune patient treatment plans. It’s been our experience that after patients become accustomed to the idea of secure online healthcare, they enjoy the efficiency and convenience.”

Senior Vice President of Marketing for Sage Software Healthcare, Sharon Howard, says that adopting electronic communication technology such as Intergy Practice Portal demonstrates anorganization’s commitment to its patients and their needs.

“We recognize that in today’s increasingly consumer-minded healthcare environment, patients want to be more connected with their healthcare providers,” she said. “We’ve developed Intergy Practice Portal to support this growing need. We wanted to ensure we offered a solution fully integrated with our Intergy practice management and EHR suite. That provides the greatest value to our customers and ultimately, to their patients.”
